How is a doctor taking advantage of his/her patient?

Hi,

If a doctor has a patient and he/she gets romantically or sexually involved with the patient, the doctor is said to be taking advantage of his/her patient. How is the doctor taking advantage of the patient? What's so wrong with the picture? People are so disgusted with this type of situation and doctors lose their lisences for it. **What's so wrong with this??**

ThanksHow is a doctor taking advantage of his/her patient?
it is very unprofessional...How is a doctor taking advantage of his/her patient?
A doctor is held to a higher professional standard due to the nature of doctor-patient relationships, where crossing lines into sexual behavior may be interpreted as taking advantage of the patient's vulnerability. It is similar to sexual harassment cases where a boss is held to a higher standard because of his or her position of authority and potential to harm the career of a subordinate. At best, it isn't a good idea, and at worst, it can represent a criminal act when something like this occurs.
Ethnically and professionally it is very wrong. He can get fire and lose his license for having that doctor and patient affair. I have a crush on a doctor at the hospital, and I know how it can be. But dump him as a doctor, then date them if it is that strong.

I think doctors are hot (excuse me) because they are so intelligent and professional wit those lab coats... It is such an attraction for many women (and men) to. I think it's kind of dirty secret if you date while under their care. I wouldn't be surprised if this did happen with people not knowing. I feel it is risky, and you should dump your doc and date him or just leave it be.
