What can i do to convince my neighbor to stop breeding her pitbull mixes?

this lady that lives by me has had three litters this past year. with her so called american pit terrier but looks like an american bully or american bully cross. i have never actually spoken with her about it. she seems pretty stuck up and very ghetto...i live in a no good city.i know her kids well they always come and play with my two american pit terriers when we are outside, i guess it is the teenage daughter dog from what the kids tell me. and she breeds the male to who ever wants to breed their female. n i asked if it is ok with the mom n they say she doesn't care because it is not her dog and she doesn't have to take care of it. i mean the dog has no muscle it is overweight if it is supposed to b a purebred apbt. its elbows r all twisted inward n tha feet are twisted outward n tha toes r all deformed cuz of overly long nails. i dunno he looks deformed to me. n the thing is all the pups go to the 14 and 16 year olds who want a dog just to seem bad ***. and they all raise their dogs to be vicious. i know al ltha reasons ppl should not breed apbts unless they are reputable breeders. i just don't know how to get it across to someone who seems so rude and obnoxious. i mean one day her dog was lose and came running to my yard but stopped because he would have to jump down into my yard. she was calling him looken for him. so i yelled over to her is this your dog?she just came storming over looked at me with what i thought was a disgusted look then hit the dog on tha butt and stormed back inside with him. i dunno maybe the dirty look was cuz my dogs were acting like hers wasn't even there and she cant even get tht dog to look at her if she is right there yelling his name. i just do not want to cause problems for myself but i don't think it is fair to keep breeding what clearly has no business being bred.What can i do to convince my neighbor to stop breeding her pitbull mixes?

You can report her to the local humane society but if there isn't evidence the dogs aren't cared for or are abused then there isn't much to be done. It's horrible but breeding your dog horribly isn't against the law. It should be.
i would tell her sooner or later she will become the old dog lady in the neighborhood who all the kids will make fun of and start rumors about or tell her that if she keeps breeding her dog, she'll have a bunch of puppies and she'll have to spend a lot of money to feed them
Contact the ASPCA. I'm not sure if there's breeding laws or not. If she seems abusive to her dog, I'm sure they'll investigate it.
People will do what they want too. I know some good for nothing people like that in my neighborhood. I swear every couple months they have a two different dogs and one always get pregnant. Its not fair and those people shouldn't be allowed to be pet owners. I've thought about calling animal control, but the one in that area wouldn't take it seriously.





Besides contacting animal control, maybe tell her about the millions on dogs her BYBing is killing in shelters and tell her how her dogs offspring will become one of them.
You can call your animal control people. This works if the person is skirting the vaccination, licensing, or limit laws in your are. or

I guess some of the people who have answered this question are right, you can't save every dog. But you CAN at least try. Contact the SPCA near you. You could also contact the APBTs kennel club, and see if they can help. Check and see if there are zoning regulations that limit the number of dogs you can have. Tell the lady that it is irresponsible to breed her dogs, and they should be spayed and neutered. It is cheaper to do so then to keep breeding them. Tell her she is also indirectly killing dogs, and she should do what is best for them and get them spayed and neutered. Good Luck! :)
I had to work with a guy that laughed about selling people AKC ';drooless'; St Bernards - he had papers on a males and owned several females he crossed with other breeds to get ';drooless'; Saints. He laughed about the number of fools paying high prices for mutts because he faked the registrations.





Not a thing I could do. I reported him to the AKC but his friend had a male Saint whose papers they were using, so there was no real proof (before DNA). Drove me nuts, but you can't force people to be ethical or responsible.





If their dog is neglected, your local Animal COntrol may be able to cite them, but the dog seldom gets confiscated unless the neglect/abuse is blatant - starvation, open sores, physical evidence of abuse. But then you still have to live in the neighborhood - so only you can make that judgment.





I'm sorry, I know what a horrible feeling it is, but sometimes you just have to live with it.
Report it to the animal control officers/police. The actual breeding might not get her in trouble, but report the puppies and kids using them to look ghetto and she will get BUSTED.
Maybe you could try to talk to her, and tell her about the pet overpopulation problem. But I somehow doubt this will help if she breeds her dog like that, and sells them to kids.


You could go to your local SPCA or animal control and tell them about her, I'm not sure if she's doing anything illegal. Tell them about the deformed dog too. He may just have bad breeding or be inbred or something. How many dogs does she have? Most cities have limits of about 5 dogs. Also if the dog/s are barking too much or otherwise annoying you I'm prettysure you could report it to animal control.
