How to approach a girl in school?

I am a simple soft more (grade 10) and i am really attracted to this one girl that sits to my right all the way down by the end of the class room. i would really like to ask her out, but i feel i am out of her league and i am scared to say anything because of other complications. im not the best looker, but i can really stick out if i want to be my self. ive caught eye contact with her about 3 or 4 times, but im worried she thinks i am staring at her. and suggestions on how to make her mine? should i back away if i feel there is to much competition? she is always hanging out with guys better looking then me, and probably smarter too... i know a few things about her, but not much. i think i am hopeless. any1 have ANY advice?How to approach a girl in school?
if she is too shallow, she doesnt notice you, and goes for the ';popular kids'; she probably isnt right for a nice guy. But you should try to be her friend, dont worry if u get rejected its not the end of the world happens to everyone.
